The US Army's Loan Repayment Program will help you pay back some of the loans you might have taken out to get an education before you joined the Army.
What Loans will the Army Repay
The Army won't cover just any loan, and if you're in doubt about whether the Army will repay, make sure to ask either your recruiter or click the link to the Army's Human Resources website at the bottom of the page.
The Army will cover
- Stafford Loans
- Perkins Loans
- William D. Ford Loans
- Consolidated Loans
- Supplemental Loans for Students
- Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students
The Army will NOT cover
- Private Loans
- Equity Loans
- State Funded Loans
- Institution Loans
- Consolidated Loans taken for someone else
How do I get my loans repayed
Make sure to get the Loan Repayment Program on your enlistment contract and decline enrollment in the Montgomery GI Bill.
