United States Military Academy

First used as a defensive fort in 1778, it was established by Congress as the US Military Academy in 1802, although it began training cadets in 1794. The current curriculum was established in 1817 and its strict discipline, academic courses, and emphasis on honorable conduct has been in use ever since.

The cadets will all graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree (regardless of their major) and will also receive a commission to 2nd Lieutenant.

Mission Statement:
To educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the Nation as an officer in the United States Army.
