Soldier Systems Center


Established in 1949 and originally known as the Quartermaster Research Facility, this installation was renamed the US Army Natick Soldier Systems Center in 1998, with the merging of several other elements, and is part of the US Army Aviation and Troop Command.

Some examples of products developed at the Soldier Systems Center include: the Meal, Ready-to-Eat (MRE), body armor, bullet-proof clothing, MOLLE Load-Carriage Equipment, and many others.

Conduct research, development, acquisition and sustainment to maximize combat effectiveness and survivability of freedom's defenders.
