Camp Pendleton State Military Reservation

About

Camp Pendleton was founded in 1912, and has been in near-constant use since that time. Originally founded as a state rifle range, it was used by the Navy in WWI, and by the Army in WWII. It now servers primarily to train personnel of the Virginia National Guard, although soldiers from other units and other federal authorities will also use the base from time to time.
