MOS Details
Major Duties: 

Signal Systems Technician is a warrant officer job which is responsible for integrating and supervising Army Battlefield Control Systems, Local Area Networks, radio systems in tactical units, and other Communications Security (COMSEC) facilities. They may also provide technical assistance, implement tactical data distribution and radio systems, and oversee COMSEC accounts.

Qualifications and Prerequisites
Must have six semester hours or more of English from an accredited college
Other Qualifications: 
  • Must be a sergeant or above
  • Must successfully complete Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course (BNCOC)
  • At least four years documented experience in signal systems support and Local Area Network administration. In some instances civilian experience may be acceptable, provided it is documented by employment evaluations. Additionally, an Associates degree in a computer intensive discipline from an accredited college may be used to offset 1 year of experience, while a Bachelors may offset 2, and a Masters may offset 3. Grades for computer classes must be at least a 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to qualify.
  • Attain 12th grade reading equivalency on the Reading Grade Level portion of the Test of Adult Basic Education.

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to those above)

  • MOS 31U, 74B, 74C
  • 30 semester hours of college credit
