I was arrested December of 2014 for domestic violence charge. I plead guilty. I served 1 year probation. I had adjudication withheld and was NOT convicted. Meaning I can still carry and purchase firearms. I know domestic violence charges are looked down upon in general, but I was not convicted. It was something minor and I'm still with the gal till this day. Yes we have a kid together.

Not being convicted will go a long way & your probation is finished by about 2 years or more. To save yourself time & worry give your local Recruiting Office a call. They'll tell you outright if you have a chance of enlisting. You have 2 things going for you - this is the best time of the year to get a waiver. Recruiting Offices are traditionally the slowest between Thanksgiving until mid-January & with the Army upsizing, more Soldiers are needed. Enlistments that were all but impossible to get for the last 8 or so years are now being accepted.

Give them a call this week - tomorrow if possible & set up an appointment to see a Recruiter. After you do, come back here & tell us what you're told. I for one would sure like to find out what the latest recruiting trend is as well as many who read these posts.

Good luck!
