Pre-Trial Diversion Program

I was just recently let go from a State Job because I was not able to provide Documentation to the FBI on what the final disposition was for THEFT BY TAKING, I was told I could participate in a Pre-trial diversion program, which will get my case dismissed, with all that being said, I want to join the Army but I'm afraid This charge will affect me from enlisting, the real question is, will I be able to enlist once I have completed the program? I have not been in trouble since then...

If any of the charges are

If any of the charges are felonies, you're probably out of luck. However, if they are not felony charges then there may be hope - it's better to talk to a recruiter sooner than later.

It depends on what kind of criminal history. Felonies? Forget it. Too many misdemeanors? Forget it. Moral charges? Forget it.

Contact a Recruiter. He's your only resource as to who can join & who can't. He can run your criminal charges & tell you if they're disqualifying.

trouble joining

yes im having trouble joining the army right now. when i was 14 i had got a terrorist threat charge it wasn't what everyone assumes it is. I i had threatened my principle to punch her in the face and said a racial comment so really it was a threat on a school official. I'm not a racist person and it was a misdemeanor charge. my recruiter had told me it dqs me from joining but my question is if i get my juvenile charge in explanation form on what happened and it shows that it wasn't an actual terrorist threat would it clear me to join?? or is there anyway i can get around this situation

All the Army is concerned with is the charge, not the events or circumstances leading up to that charge. Explain all you want. It's just your word & unless it's actually on the record - well, people have been known to rewrite history.

Talk it over...

...with a Recruiter explaining everything in full. He'll have access to your police records & can probably determine from those if you have a chance for enlistment.

Good luck!
