I am 36 years old and am currently working on my Bachelors in Psychology, I will graduate this December. My question is... am I too old to enlist in OCS? I am getting mixed messages from websites and am not too sure. I would like to continue my psychology degree so that I could eventually conduct couseling. Does anyone have any idea on what options I have? I have a 3.7 GPA and excellent references and an physically fit.
Thank you for any advice that may be given.

I'm pretty sure the maximum enlistment age is now 35. I also believe you'd be too old for OCS but if you were a licensed psychologist I think you could enter the Army with possibly a direct commission through AMEDD (Army Medical Department). They may even have a different age limit if they need psychologists.

If it's not possible for you to receive a commission but you'd accept serving as an enlisted Soldier you'd enter the Army as a SPC, E-4 with a bachelors degree, hopefully as a 68X, Mental Health Specialist. You'd be a real asset in that MOS with your degree in psychology even as an enlisted person. I'm not sure if there are Warrant Officer positions in that MOS but age isn't too much of a factor there. Something else to ask an AMEDD (or regular) Recruiter.

There's an Army Recruiter on this site but he's presently being reassigned to another Recruiting Office in a different city & is on leave. He can give you a hard & set answer I'm sure. Meanwhile I'd contact a local Recruiter & start working on an enlistment or a commission. You don't have much time left.

Thank You!
