Army grooming standards

New Standards Governing Appearance on the Horizon

According to the Sgt. Maj. of the Army Raymond Chandler, new appearance regulations covering grooming and tattoos have been approved by the Secretary of the Army and are only waiting on his official signature.

Once the Secretary signs, the changes are expected to become policy in the next 30 to 60 days.

Last year the media identified several possible areas of change, but Sgt. Maj. of the Army Chandler only confirmed the details to the tattoo policy while speaking to soldiers.
