For this problem, start by finding out the total amount of gum in the bag:

6 + 8 + 10 = 24

Of the 24 total pieces, you need to find the probability (which is a fraction) that one will be mint. Since there are 8 mint pieces, put that over the total:


Since both are even numbers, you keep reducing this fraction all the way down to:

1/3 - The answer is C).
