The answer, of course, is D - welding.

Welding is done by melting the pieces (usually metal) that are being joined and adding a filler so that the pieces cool into one solid piece - providing a strong joint.

Soldering involves melting a lower-melting-point material between two pieces in order to join them, without melting the pieces at all.

Bolts and nails are relatively easy to undo, compared to welding and soldering.
