If you move the fulcrum toward the object that is trying to be moved, you can increase the force applied to the object, while decreasing the distance that the object can be moved by the lever.

If you moved the fulcrum toward where the effort is applied, the range of motion will increase, but the mechanical advantadge will decrease.

Obviously, removing the fulcrum will make the first-class lever disappear, while leaving the fulcrum in the same place will have no change on the lever's mechanical advantadge.

The answer is A) moved closer to the object being moved.
