Answer!

To solve this problem we must first find out what percentage of a complete rotation (360 degrees) 45 degrees is. So first:

360/45 = 8

Now we know that 45 degrees is 1/8 of a rotation, we can find out how long 1/8 of a day is (since one rotation of the earth is 24 hours, we find out 1/8th of 24):

24/8 = 3

It would take 3 hours for the earth to complete 45 degrees of a revolution, the answer is C).
